The author presents the Prophet's guidance for dealing with various health problems, including disease problems and preventive measures to keep the body healthy. This is the approach adopted by Ibn al-Qayyim when he presents the verses of the Qur'an and the statements of the Prophet as his primary reference on these issues of health and medicine.
About The Author
Imam Ibn Al-Qayyim al-Jawzi was born in 691 AH/1292 AD in a scholarly and noble family, at that time Damascus was the center of literature and thought. Many schools were established there and he studied and graduated under the protection, guidance, and patronage of his father.
He was also mainly influenced by his Sheikh and teacher Imam Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Ash's Shirazi. Ibn al-Qayyim al-Jawziyya died in the city of Damascus in the year 751 AH/1350 CE, when he was less than 60 years old and was buried next to the grave of his father (Rahimahuma Allah) in the cemetery of Bab al-Saghir.
