How to Pray

Definition of prayer what is the meaning of prayer

Read How to Pray (Read Namaz) Prayer is the second of the five pillars of Islam. It is obligatory for all Muslims to pray five times a day before puberty, which is the age of legal obligation. It gives us the opportunity to communicate with Allah, remember him, thank him, and worship him the moment we approach him. Prayer is a gift for every believer and it is the first thing on the Day of Resurrection.

We've started this short guide as an easy way to do it for anyone who wants to update their knowledge. All the laws here are in accordance with the Hanafi school of Islamic jurisprudence.

Prayers are offered every day and five times a night. You can easily find prayer times for your location using an app or website.

When it is time for prayers, make sure that you have performed Wudhu and that you are wearing clothes that at least cover your Umrah. For men, it covers everything from the navel to the knees. Women should cover everything except hands, feet, and face.

Find a clean place (such as a prayer mat) and a place that does not hurt others.

Face the Qibla (towards the Kaaba in Makkah), which is in the southeast of the United Kingdom. There are many free apps that can use the compass on your phone to tell you where the qiblah is, If you are unable to stand due to illness or weakness, you can sit and pray.

Start planning to pray orally or silently. This is done in Arabic or in your own language. Say: I intend to offer (four) rak'ahs of prayer (Zuhr) for Allah facing the Ka‘bah’,.

From making this intention to the end of your prayers, pay full attention to Allah and pray to Him.

Say Allahu Akbar and raise your hands to the ears of men and to the shoulders of women. This means that Allah is the greatest. Now you are in ihram, which means that all worldly things are haraam for you, such as talking, laughing, eating, drinking, or thinking about something that bothers you.

Arrange your daily life around five prayers, not the other way around.

Don't talk during prayers and always stay focused.

Before going to the mosque or praying, make sure that your body and clothes are clean and fragrant. It is undesirable to smell unpleasant during prayers, and it is haraam if the smell is so bad that it disturbs other worshipers. Garlic in particular is undesirable.

Do not disturb others if they are praying or standing in front of the praying person. The Prophet (peace and blessings of the Lord) forbid this. You can place a sutra (barrier) in front of the praying believer so that people can pass in front of the believer when needed.

Never speak loudly in the mosque. It can disturb others in prayer. In fact, it is undesirable to talk about worldly affairs because it defeats the purpose of the mosque, which is to worship, obey and acquire knowledge.

Consider using a computer or smartphone application to prevent missed prayers.

Do your best to perform all your prayers daily, especially if you are an adult - you are responsible for your actions. If you are at school or work, and there are no arrangements for you to pray there, you can hold the prayer when you return home.

There are different conditions for describing rak'ahs. The obligatory rak'ah means that which is obligatory. The Sunnah of Rak'at is what the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did and it is highly recommended. The supererogatory rak'ah is that which is rewardable but not obligatory, and witr refers to the highly recommended prayer after Isha.

Always try to use your time in the mosque effectively. Don't use it as a social gathering place.

unless in doubt about the time of prayer, use the position of the sun. the present time as a guide. If the sun is east below the horizon, it is probably dawn. If the sun is directly above, it is probably noon. if the sun is above the western horizon, it is Asr. unless the sun is west below the horizon, it is probably west. And if it's completely dark, it's likely Isha.
