Prayer for Acceptance
Imam Fakhruddin Razi (may God bless him and grant him peace) says: It is certainly known that on the Day of Resurrection, a person will benefit only by worshiping Allah. That is why it is very important to engage in worship. Since dua is the best form of worship, here the servants were ordered to pray. (Tafseer Kabir, Al-Mu'min, under verse: 60, 9 / 527, in summary, Sarat al-Jinan, 8 / 579) The Prophet, peace, and blessings of God be upon him, said: Sins are forgiven by praying. Tips For Acceptance Of Dua
What are the conditions for the acceptance of dua by Allah Ta'ala?
There are several terms for dua:
1- Ask only Allah Almighty; The reason for this is that the Messenger of Allah, may God bless him and grant him peace, said to Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him: (Whenever you ask, ask Allah Almighty and whenever you want help, ask only Allah for help) Tirmidhi (2516) narrated it, and al-Albani declared it authentic in Sahih al-Jama'i.
In fact, this hadith is the interpretation of this verse:
( وَأَنَّ الْمَسَاجِدَ لِلَّهِ فَلا تَدْعُو مَعَ اللَّهِ أَحَداً )
Translation: And verily, the mosques are for Allah, so do not invoke anyone with Allah. [Al-Jin: 18]
This condition is very great and the most important condition, without it the supplication is not accepted and without it, no deed is presented to Allah Ta'ala. They think that these righteous people will bring them closer to Allah, they make them intercessors before Allah, and they think that because of their sins, they have no place with Allah. Therefore, they make good people a resource to Allah Almighty and pray to them instead of Allah Almighty, the Almighty says:
( وَإِذَا سَأَلَكَ عِبَادِي عَنِّي فَإِنِّي قَرِيبٌ أُجِيبُ دَعْوَةَ الدَّاعِ إِذَا دَعَانِ )
Translation: And when My servants ask you about Me, I am near, and whenever a supplicant calls upon Me, I accept his supplication. [Al-Baqarah: 186]
2- Adopt any of the legally permissible means.
3- Avoid haste; Because haste hinders the acceptance of dua, as in a hadith that says: Hoti) Bukhari: (6340) Muslim: (2735)
Similarly, in Sahih Muslim: (2736) it is said: (The servant's prayer is accepted until he does not pray for any sin or disloyalty and does not hurry) It was said: Messenger of Allah! "What do you mean by rushing?" Then the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: (He should start saying: I have prayed a lot and prayed a lot, but Allah does not accept my prayer, he gets tired of saying this and stops praying.)
4- There should be no sin or unkindness in the prayer, as it has been mentioned in the first hadith that: (The servant's prayer is accepted until he does not ask for any sin or unkindness)
5- Have a good opinion about Allah, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: (Allah says: I deal with my servant according to what he thinks about himself) Bukhari: (7405) Muslim: (4675) And in the same way, it is in the hadith of Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, that: (While supplicating to Allah, you should have full faith in acceptance). Has been described as good.
Therefore, Allah Almighty pours rivers of goodness and blessings on the one who hopes for good from Allah Almighty, Allah Almighty bestows His bounty on him, and Allah Almighty showers him with abundance.
6- Ask for dua from the heart, the majesty of Allah should be highlighted in the heart. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: (Know! Verily, Allah does not accept any dua from a heedless heart) Tirmidhi: (3479) ) narrated it and al-Albani declared it as good in Sahih al-Jami: (245).
7- Eating and drinking is halal, Allah has decreed:
( إنَّمَا يَتَقَبَّلُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْمُتَّقِينَ )
Translation: Verily, Allah accepts only from the pious. [Al-Ma'idah: 27]
On the other hand, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) also declared it impossible to accept the supplication of a person whose food, drink, and clothing are forbidden, so it is in the hadith that: That he should stretch out his hands towards the sky with disheveled hair and dust on a long journey and say: O Lord! O Lord!, even though his food is forbidden, his drink is forbidden, his clothes are made of forbidden material and his appearance is also forbidden. But it happened; so how can his supplication be accepted!) Muslim: (1015)
Ibn Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, says: (By eating haram, the strength in dua is lost and the dua becomes weak).
8- Do not exceed the limits in supplication; Because Allah, the Exalted, does not like exceeding the limit in supplication, the Almighty says:
( اُدْعُوا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعاً وَخُفْيَةً إِنَّهُ لا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِينَ )
Translation: Call upon your Lord in whispers and in secret, surely He does not like transgressors. [Al-A'raf: 55]
9- Do not neglect to perform any necessary work by being engaged in prayer, for example: Do not leave something urgent and necessary such as the service of your father with the reason that you are engaged in prayer. There is an indication that when he heard his mother's voice and did not respond to it and engaged in his prayer, his mother made a bad supplication against him, and as a result, Allah put him to the test.
Imam Nawawi (may Allah have mercy on him) says:
"The scholars say: This is an argument that the correct action for Jurij was to respond to his mother's words; because he was performing the Nafl prayer and continuing the Nafl prayer was also Nafl and not wajib. , while it is obligatory to respond to the words of the mother, and to treat her well, disobedience to her is forbidden.
"Sharh Sahih Muslim" by Nawi: (16/82)
